Minor Chipping: For minor fractures or chips, a composite (tooth-colored) filling can be applied in a single appointment. This quick and effective solution restores the tooth's appearance and function. 2. Deeper Fractures: For more severe damage, treatment may involve a combination of procedures. This could include applying porcelain veneers for a natural look, performing a root canal treatment to address any underlying pulp damage, and placing a dental crown to provide durability and strength. Case Study: The patient here had a fall where he fell face first on hard concrete while on holiday. The impact was so severe that both his front teeth broke, the left one had a complete fracture and was dangling and the right one cracked obliquely. He got a partial composite filling done on the right tooth while on holiday, and rushed to us as soon as he returned. This was a complex case to treat as the fracture on the left tooth was well below the gum level on the inner side. Here's what we did here to save the left tooth:- 1. Root canal treatment 2. Gum contouring to expose healthy tooth structure 3. Temporary crown 4. Orthodontic extrusion of remaining tooth fragment (2 weeks) 5. Lab fabricated cast post to stabilise the fragment 6. Li Di Si Crown/cap for left tooth 7. Veneer for right tooth, as the filling would not stand the test of time.
